Confirmation

Confirmation is an opportunity for our tenth graders to spend an entire year studying with our Rabbi. The theme and curriculum of the program is "Our Search for God". Discussions center around the study of various philosophers and texts relative to understanding God in Judaism and the relationship each of us can share with God. In addition, we explore prayer as the vehicle in which we communicate with God. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to encourage students to begin to consider more seriously their own conception, relationship, and the role that God plays in their lives. While understanding that this is a lifelong process, it is our hope that through their Confirmation experience the students will have a firm foundation upon which this process will evolve. The Confirmation Program culminates with the students putting together a creative Shabbat Service which echoes their reflections of what they have learned during their Religious School years but most significantly the material studied during their Confirmation year.
