Congregation Beth Emeth Youth Group
CBEYG DURING COVID-19
Your health and safety are our top priorities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, weekly meetings are subject to change to Cyper CBEYG (CyBEYG) with video-calls, and scheduling of in-person programs. This will rely on the status of the pandemic.
At this time, NFTYx is set up to support virtual experiences and events only. Details about in-person gatherings will be shared as they are developed.
See below for more info about CBEYG & NFTY along with the 2020-21 registration form.

CBEYG (Congregation Beth Emeth Youth Group) is a peer led youth group for high school students built on positive interpersonal connections, Jewish living, and peer leadership. The activities are planned by and for the teenagers. We believe that peer leadership motivates teens to participate in the programs, gives them memorable experiences as members of a Jewish community, and builds lasting friendships. CBEYG's programs take place in an informal setting each week at the Temple. CBEYG's activities are overseen by CBEYG Advisors, Madison Laks, Alison Simpson and Shara Siegfeld You can contact Madison & Alison through the temple at 436-9761 or e-mail them at cbeyouthgroup@gmail.com
CBEYG is part of NFTY-NE (North American Federation of Temple Youth - Northeast);
NFTYx is an open space for Jewish engagement, creativity, innovation, and community. Designed to support Reform Jewish teens in planning Jewish experiences for those within and beyong their social networks. The "x" significes an unknow variable, the notion of collaboration among users, and its exponential impact. The unkonwn variable is YOU - teen leaders, alumni, clergy, youth professionsals, parents, anyone who want to plan a NFTYx event! You represent the x-factor. Your ideas, inspiration, creativity, passion, and leadership multiply the impact of NFTYx.

TIME TRAVEL IN THE TALMUD: The Talmud has some very cool time travel stories (seriously!), which the rabbis used to explore questions like "how are we connected to the people who came before us and will come after us?" and "why is there suffering in the world?". We'll study a few of these stories, including Moses' journey to the time of Rabbi Akiva, Adam's experiences seeing the future, and Honi the Circlemaker's very long (Rip Van Winkel -style) nap,.
