In Memoriam
We acknowledge with profound sadness the death of Jay Wechsler, father of our member Sam Wechsler (Jessica Reichard).
We also acknowledge with profound sadness the death of our member James Cohen, who is survived by his brother and children.
We also acknowledge with profound sadness the death of Barbara R. Schwalb, mother of our member Jonathan (Meryl) Schwalb and his brothers.
We also acknowledge with profound sadness the death of our member Harlan Steuer, husband of Jennifer and father of Rebecca, Olivia, and Benjamin.
May their memories be a blessing.
Host Yonatan!
Yonatan, our Rabbinic Intern, is looking for hosts for meals while he's in town! Whether you take him to your favorite restaurant or invite him to your home for Shabbat dinner, we want to make sure he feels welcome! Sign up for a date (or two), and reach out to Rebecca if you have any questions.
Introducing: Kulanu
CBE is proud to be a part of the Anti-Defamation League's Kulanu: Synagogues in Action Against Antisemitism. The goal of this initiative is to support congregations in sharing resources with their communities to counter antisemitism. We're looking for 10-12 people to join in a Kulanu (which means “all of us” in Hebrew) working group that will meet 3-5 times. We'd especially appreciate hearing from folks who've experienced and/or witnessed antisemitism. The first meeting will be held on Zoom in mid-January.
