Installation Weekend

What is an installation and why are we doing it now? The Installation of Rabbi Greg D. Weitzman is occurring 16 months after he began at Congregation Beth Emeth. What makes our timing fortuitous is that this allowed our congregational family and our local community the time to truly get to know Rabbi and his wonderful family. From the Meet & Greets of his early days to our recent heartfelt and meaningful High Holy Day Services, Rabbi Weitzman has become enmeshed in the fabric of our beloved congregation.

What’s the big deal? Filling the role of Senior Rabbi at this historic congregation is a major, once-in-a-generation event. Rabbi Weitzman will be the 14th Senior Rabbi and it has been over three decades since we passed the torch. We spent years planning for this occasion.

Why should I attend? Installation is a very sacred occasion where the rabbi, the congregational leadership and the entire congregation meet to express their commitment to the future of their synagogue and the Jewish people. It is a brit (covenant), a time when God’s presence can fill the sanctuary. Rabbi Weitzman has a caring heart and a great vision. He lives a life guided by Reform Jewish tradition, Jewish ethics, community building and values. He uses those values in the decisions he makes every day on our behalf.

Join us during the weekend of October 13-14 to celebrate The Installation of Rabbi Weitzman as the 14th Rabbi of Congregation Beth Emeth. Please click on each event below to register to attend. If you cannot attend the Cocktail Reception, you are welcome to join our In Absentia Honorary Committee. (There is an opportunity to join this committee in the Havdalah & Cocktail Reception registration)
